Strategic Mission Partners (SMP) is an international mission ministry founded by Dr. Danny and Karen Souder in 2001. Danny served for two years (2000 and 2001) as the Chairman of the Trustees of the North American Mission Board (NAMB). After 8 years as a NAMB Trustee and during a mission trip representing NAMB in Puerto Rico, the Lord called Danny and Karen to this mission ministry. The Puerto Rican pastors and leaders appealed to the Souders to help them reach the lost in their country of Puerto Rico. After much prayer and by faith, the Souders were called by the Lord to launch their mission ministry. With the prayers, support and encouragement of family, friends and their church, SMP was born.

Initially SMP began serving in the Strategic Focus Cities (SFC) of NAMB mobilizing, enlisting, training and leading volunteers from churches and associations to work alongside church planting missionaries in the SFC such as Seattle, Las Vegas, Miami, New York City, Vancouver BC, Baltimore and San Diego.

With a calling and commitment to follow the Acts 1:8 strategy, the Souders enlarged their vision and strategy to include the strategies of the International Mission Board (IMB) missionaries around the world as well. Their international ministry includes ministries in China, Ukraine, Peru, Central Asia, Panama, Canada, Mexico, St Lucia, Israel and Zambia. Their plan and vision is to follow and assist in the implementation of the IMB strategies in the countries where they are serving in order to fulfill evangelism, strengthening and multiplication ministries that lead to church planting movements.

The vision of the Souders through the SMP ministry is to follow the Great Commission and work alongside NAMB and IMB missionaries to do God’s will in preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our passion, through much prayer, is to follow the Lords agenda in fulfilling the Great Commission.

SMP is an IRS-recognized 5013C tax-deductible international mission ministry that is supported by an advisory board of pastors, ministers, businessmen and women who believe in, pray for and support of the Souders in this most important strategic Christian mission ministry.
