Linda joined SMP in 2001 as assistant to Danny Souder on an SMP Domestic Mission Trip to New York City. Over the last several years, Linda has served as a Domestic Mission Trip Consultant organizing and leading church planting mission teams to NAMB Strategic Focus Cities such as Miami, Seattle and Vancouver, B.C. In 2007 she joined the SMP management team as Vice President of Domestic Mission Trips. In this role, Linda works with individual churches as well as associations in helping the leadership create a vision for their lay folks to follow God’s call into the mission field. She identifies church planters in Strategic Focus Cities who are requesting help in growing their churches of mission volunteers from all across the United States. The church planter and Linda plan the trip activities to match the needs of the church and the skills of the mission volunteers God is calling to their church. Linda then mentors the local church mission leaders in the development of their mission team and raising the finances for their trip. Once on the road, she manages all details of the trip to allow the missionaries to concentrate on their role in helping their church planter. She finds great pleasure in seeing folks who have never been on a mission trip before see God’s vision in the mission field and how God can use them to lead others to Christ.

From 1995 to 2000, Linda served as a lay volunteer with Women Reaching Texas. She served on the planning committee for the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary Women’s Leadership Consultation in 2000 and 2004.

From 1991 to 1995, Linda served as Outreach Director at Fielder Road Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas. During the four years she served the Lord in this staff position, He laid on her heart the salvation of the more than 300 visitors who came to her church each week. As she led outreach efforts, Linda began to realize that the lay people in her church were hesitant to become involved in reaching the souls around them. They thought that outreach and witnessing took special skills, a lot of training and experience and a lot of study and memorization. What God revealed to her each week as she would go with her team members to call on the visitors is that all you need to do God’s work is a willing heart, a caring for the lost, an open Bible and a knowledge that prayer and the Holy Spirit do the work through you.

Linda enjoys mentoring women of all ages in prayer and witnessing. She is available for speaking engagements, training seminars and conferences. “The Profile of a Woman Who Shares Her Faith” is one of her favorite topics. Linda is also trained to speak on various other topics on prayer and evangelism. Her message throughout all her appearances is a testimony of how God took a lay woman from the pews of her own church, brought her to the point that she understood His quiet voice calling her to action, blessed her with growth and personal challenges and allowed her the blessings of following His will. Now she wants to share this message with her Sisters-In-Christ.

Linda lives in Fort Worth, Texas with her husband, Dr. Royce Lummus and her two German Shepherds, Hansel and Gretel Von Straken. She holds an MBA in Marketing & Management. Linda owns a small consulting company where the flexible hours allow her to do the Lord’s work.
