Central Asia
Who:
Missionaries and our wonderful families host our trips in Central Asia. They are very instrumental in helping our groups with emotional adjustments that come from being dropped in the midst of a new culture where language, food etc are completely different from what most of us are accustomed to. The missionaries make you feel completely at home and are very dependable. They will help you grow while you serve the Lord in meaningful ministry as you share God’s truth.

What:
Most of our mission trips will include some or all of the following activities:

  • Prayer walking
  • Scripture distribution
  • Servant evangelism
  • Personal witnessing
  • Singing
  • Testifying
  • Preaching
When:
The climate is mild. Whereas the spring and summer (April-August) months are hot and humid, our travel month falls in the winter months (October-March) which are rainy and cold. The temperature is usually above freezing, but cold (about 40F). Be prepared for the weather conditions. This is a large city and you will do a lot of walking; so the most important item in your suitcase is comfortable shoes! The general rule at all times is to dress conservatively. For women, pants and jeans are acceptable. If you bring a skirt or dress, the hem should fall below the knees. No shorts, sleeveless tops, or low-cut necklines. For men, jeans are acceptable, and casual shirts are fine. No shorts. The exceptions to the shorts rule is if you are swimming or participating in sporting events.

Where:
Our groups stay in hotels, usually in double rooms. The hotels we’ve used are located in a nice part of town that is very tourist-friendly. You will be comfortable there. Many restaurants are within walking distance. Be prepared for an exciting adventure for your palate! A special treat on this trip is visiting the Seven Churches – all the seven churches that received letters from John in the book of Revelation are located here.

Why?
Why do we do this project?

  1. Christ said in Mark 16:15 - And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation." We go because God’s heart is that none should perish.
  2. Because Christ sends us in John 20:21 - So Jesus said to them again, "Peace be with you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you."
  3. To love and obey Jesus by fulfilling the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20 and Acts 1.8.
  4. We go because the need to spread the Gospel has never been greater. There are more people on earth than ever before, but there are also more lost people than ever before.
  5.

One of the many precious faces of Central Asia.

Donna Weston shares her testimony with a lady from Central Asia.

This Central Asia trip is particularly exciting in that it consists of a trip to
the Seven Churches, found in the book of Revelations Chapters 2 and 3.
All of the Seven Churches are in modern-day Turkey. As we visit the
Seven Churches, we share Christ with the people we meet along the way.
