Who:
Pastor Fred baptizes a new believer
on our mission trip to Peru. | Tom and Kay Cox with Tom Cox World Ministries lead this trip to Peru every year. Destinations include Trujillo, Piura, Arequippa and Chiclayo. Several Southern Baptist Convention
missionaries and local Peruvian Baptist staff are involved in
interacting with our missionary teams to ensure that missionary efforts
are successful. Due to the medical nature of our trips, everyone is
encouraged to join us, but there is an especially greater need for
doctors, nurses, dentists, optometrists and dental assistants. We also
have a great need for children workers, preachers and yes, all of God’s
people! What:
Most of our mission trips will include some or all of the following activities:
- Medical and mobile clinics
- Children’s Bible clubs
- Evangelistic crusades
- Music teams
- Personal witnessing
- Testifying
- Preaching
When:
Trips
to Peru are typically held in the summer. Therefore lightweight clothes
are the obvious choice, but also have some clothing for cool weather.
Comfortable walking shoes greatly improve your experience!
Where:
Comfortable
and affordable accommodations are provided in hotels, dorm rooms,
missionary or seminary housing. Delicious Peruvian food is served 3
times a day.
Why?
Why do we do this project?
- To love and obey Jesus by fulfilling the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20 and Acts 1.8.
- To support the NAMB
strategic focus city strategy by planting new churches in unchurched
areas of the world in order to reach this large lost population with
the Gospel.
- To assist existing churches and pastors in reaching the lost of Peru.
Medical missions form an integral part of our missions to South America.
Here an optometrist fits a lady with reading glasses and a follow-up presentation of the Gospel.
